FAQ

Answering your common questions from if I’m a medical doctor to if I accept insurance.

What to prepare for a clinic visit:

Please make sure all the forms are filled out before your initial consultation to take full advantage of your time. I will not be able to see a patient until the forms are completed, simply because prior administrative work is necessary for a meaningful visit. All the instructions will be emailed to you at the time you make your first appointment. If you have not received an email from us, please notify the office.

Please wear comfortable clothes, which you can roll up to the knees and elbows. Also please come with a clean face; no make-up (eye makeup is ok.)

Each session is usually 1 hour, but can go up to 1.5 hours.

Do you take insurance?

I will not bill the insurance. I will provide you with the necessary documentation so that you can submit the claim to your insurance company for your reimbursement. (Please note that it is your responsibility to check with your insurance company to see if my service is covered by your plan.) I appreciate your payment at the time of service.

Are you a medical doctor?

I’m a licensed acupuncturist, East Asian Medicine Practitioner, and Functional Medicine Practitioner. In addition to extensive Traditional Chinese Medicine courses, the curriculum for the Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program at Bastyr University includes: Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, Western Clinical Science, Pharmacology, Pathology, and Public Health. I have extensive post-graduate education and training in Functional Medicine.
